Young Ambitious Women Foundation Inc. (YAW) is a 501(c)(3) non profit, created from lived experience. Founded in November 2025 by Jalaiya Johnson, YAW was built on one belief: your journey isn't for you - it's meant to help someone else.

As a young woman navigating ambition, relationships, career growth and personal development, Jalaiya realized how many lessons she had to learn through experience. She began to ask herself: What if young women had access to guidance before they had to learn everything the hard way?

YAW was born from that question. Today, Young Ambitious Women exists to provide young women with the tools, conversations, and community many of us wish we had earlier. YAW is a space where ambition is encouraged, vulnerability is welcomed, and growth is intentional.

 

We focus on mentorship, financial literacy, career development, emotional intelligence, and self-governance. Through workshops, micro-scholarships, monthly challenges, community events, and strategic partnerships, we create opportunities for young women to grow with guidance instead of confusion.

 

At YAW, we believe success is not just about titles or income. it is about alignment, discipline, character, and impact. We are building a generation of women who are high-achieving yet self-aware, confident yet teachable, ambitious yet grounded in purpose.
